The snow cover provides ready evidence that the deer fence is working. The deer -- as well as other assorted creatures -- are walking up to the fence, milling about, then going around.
and what may be a weasel:
and squirrels:
A post from the "In the Field" blog last year, before the fence was installed, showed a highway of deer and coyote going right through the garden.

I'm loving your blog! I just did a search on "cinquefoil ground cover" and stumbled here. Nice to meet a fellow lover of natives! And I see you have also been to Garden in the Woods. I hope you will continue to update your blog. Cheers!
ReplyDelete"I'm glad to see it's working. Have you ever used any repellents, such as deer off? I use this spray and it works by targeting the deer’s sense of smell and taste. Others only work on one sense and don’t work well.
